Baseball Hot Shots

Grant’s season is over but Preston will play until mid-April.  I always enjoy watching the boys play sports. I take many pictures just hoping for one that will be great.  Sports shots are so hard to capture.  PLUS my boys always do better when my camera is off so in the spirit of winning, I have to put it away sometimes.  Here are a few HOT SHOTS so far…

Happy Birthday to Me!

March is one  of my favorite times of the year.  Things are beginning to bloom and “green up”, the weather is warmer and it is my birthday –of course.  Birthdays these days don’t mean as much as they used to.  I’d like to skip the aging and just have the cake and presents! :) This year my birthday started in early March with a birthday breakfast (for all March birthdays) at the PS and a little party at the ES (we have a birthday buddy in the SPED group).  The party at the ES was on my last day there.  I am now teaching two classes at the PS only.  My class size grew too big so we had to start an afternoon class…on the the best birthday presents I must say!  On the Sunday before my birthday, my parents cooked me and the boys dinner.  We had wonderful cupcakes and presents!

The boys played baseball on my birthday so instead of a ballpark hotdog, we waited and got takeout after the games.  I chose Guthrie’s chicken!  YUM  The boys got it ready for me and surprised me with a candle and the “special plate”.

I got lost of Facebook wishes, many cards and even a few little gifts from other friends and family.  The next night we went to the Auburn/Alabama baseball game.  It was held in the Minor League Montgomery Biscuits stadium and was lots of fun. Right when we got there, I saw AUBIE and had to get my picture with him.  None of the boys would join me…you are never too old for a picture with Aubie!

BTW: Auburn won 2-1!  On the 18th I went with 18 other ladies from our church to see Anita Renfroe and Mandisa.  It was WONDERFUL!  I laughed until all my makeup was gone and then some.  Anita is so funny…if you haven’t seen her, look her up on you tube!  Mandisa is such a great singer and so wonderful to listen too between songs.  Very Heartfelt.

Dennis got to come home for a visit on the 19th.

Boys trying to see Dennis get off the plane.

He stayed for a few days and is now in TX.  He will come back here on Sunday and stay for almost a week (working).  Then it is back to Kuwait for another 2-3 weeks.  But THEN…he will be home for GOOD!  Can’t believe his year is almost over.

DOGS!

The dogs have been escaping a lot recently and more reinforcements had to be added to the yard around the fence.  The last time they got out they were gone for almost 3 days when I got a call from my friend and I heard her say “sit Sport!”.  She said my dog had been hanging out at OUR CHURCH for a day or 2 while people were working on it and a BBQ!  They saw the local number and thought he would just go home.  When she heard the number she knew it was mine and called me.  We went and got him on a Friday evening and Saturday Morning the other crazy mutt was sleeping by the fence!

One other time last Summer, I picked them up at a church!  Guess they knew they needed Divine Intervention!

Ryan and Grant went to their cousin Lauren’s art birthday party a few weeks ago.  Ryan wanted to paint but Grant was not so sure. He was feeling a bit too old to paint at a girls party but gave in when he and Ryan and their other boy cousin had their own table.   They gave them the choice of a few little animals and Ryan and Grant picked Dogs.  Grant decided to make his camouflage..to up his manly image!  I think they both turned out cute.

Polar Plunge

We have been having Spring like weather for awhile now but it is still cool enough at night for me to have a blanket at the baseball games (and gloves, a scarf…)  While my brother was here we were  sitting outside by my mom’s pool enjoying the warmer weather and Ryan kept saying “I want to get in”.  He got the thermometer out and started checking the temp but it had been in the shed so it was higher and kept dropping little by little when placed in the water.  So after some thought and an “I dare you” or 2, Ryan dove right in!  He swam a bit and then got out and burrowed in a large towel.  Luckily he did not catch pneumonia!  He said “what do I get if I do this?” and I said “SICK” and then he said “it better get on the blog!” So here it is Ryan…
