I don’t like to brag too much and I don’t feel the need to record every little thing but since it is the end of the school year and I have not posted in awhile, I am going to brag on my kids. I guess all mommas should brag on their kids. I used to give my kids a treat if they every got an unsolicited compliment (from a stranger in a store or restaurant, a coach, teacher etc.). But it sometimes seems to be a jinx…. for example: you say your baby sleeps through the night and that night they wake up 4 times. So I keep my public brags to a minimum just in case. At home we have Special Plates and they are used often.
ANYWAY: Just this past month all of the boys have gotten numerous awards and done well at various things. Preston got 3 awards at the NBHS Sports banquet: Coaches Award for hard work/attitude etc. in basketball, Golden Glove award in baseball for only 3 errors all year and a Three Sports Award for playing varsity football, basketball and baseball.
At the end of the year awards day, he received an award for all As and Bs this quarter, another for above 90 average in all classes this year and the award for having the highest average in Biology. He was inducted into the Beta Club and selected to be a school ambassador for next school year.
Grant received awards for all As all year, and above 90 average in all classes all year. They do not have a sports banquet for junior high sports but he also played football, basketball and baseball this past year.
I am also very proud of Grant for sticking it out on a very bad Babe Ruth baseball team this summer. They actually won a game last week! We have a young inexperienced team with only a few JV players and are playing teams full of 15 and 16 yr olds who played JV or even varsity during the school year. He is playing pitcher and catcher.
Ryan “graduated” from elementary school with all As every year! He received the Presidential Award of Excellence in Education for having good grades and character during grades 4-6. He also had the highest averages in Reading and Social Studies.
He received a leadership award for 6th grade band
Performed with his musical theatre class in the spring showcase. They performed Footloose and Ryan was “Ren”.
He also is working hard as a Jr Beekeeper. He received his bees in the mail and transferred them to the hive.
The bees came in the mail (but had to be picked up at the post office) in that wooden box. Ryan then shook them all out into the hive.
I am so proud of all my boys. They are smart, well rounded, and respectful kids. They are comfortable playing sports, helping with yard work and house work, visiting a very sick great uncle in ICU and hanging out with grandparents, cousins and even their PARENTS!!
That’s all the bragging I will do….for the time being! That’s what mommas are for…and making chore lists for the summer –which is my next task! “oh mo-o-o-m!”
