The foundation blocks are being put in… Tough job!

Boys by “the tree” where we stood for the Christmas cards (with nothing but trees the 1st year and then a clearing last year). The dog, Bryan, belongs to my parents.
The countdown…or UP has begun. We are at Day one where the foundation crew comes to layout the house and set the footers. ( I am learning a lot of new lingo and Dennis rolls his eyes a lot!)
Just missed the shot where Ryan had his arm around Preston too

After years of dreaming, months of planning and days of organizing, interviewing and “getting things done”, we are breaking ground on our dream house!…Very Exciting!
I made Dennis pose for these pictures…I should have dressed him better Haha!
Dennis came home and hit the ground running. In the past few weeks we have picked out our windows and exterior doors, interviewed and picked a foundation guy, framer, plumbing/electric guy, and trim work man. Found the perfect brick (maybe), picked out countertops, picked out some of our cabinets, had water and electric run to the building site, lowered the roof, raised the ceiling and added more square feet! I am so exhausted!
PLUS at work we just went through a special ed monitoring that determined my room is unsafe and I have to relocate before the end of the year! There are only 10 school days left! PLUS meetings, meetings, meetings and progress reports! I might go insane.
The kids are great. Both Preston and Grant received academic awards on awards day. Ryan has not had his yet. Preston just received the Coaches award in Baseball at the Varsity Sports Banquet (as a 9th grader he played 2 varsity sports and one JV sport). Ryan’s Musical Theatre class just participated in the studio’s showcase. He did GREAT and is more determined than ever that he needs to be discovered NOW! They get out of school on the 26th. (I get out on June 3rd) Preston and Grant will be involved in sports workouts all summer and Ryan will go to a 4H camp. Hopefully we will find time for a family trip or 2.
