Father’s Day

Dennis put a Boston Butt in the smoker on Saturday afternoon while we worked on the porches (pictures later).  We took it off around 11 30 Pm and boy did it smell (and taste) good.

On Sunday we heated the meat and had rice, baked beans and bread after church.  We then made three kinds of homemade ice cream by the pool.  Sandra ate with us and Kenny, Nicki and kids came to swim and eat ice cream.

I made my dad a book of the trip they just took plus a few other trips we have taken in the past several years.

The boys wanted Dennis to have the book Happy, Happy, Happy by Phil Robertson, so we downloaded the Kindle app and got the book sent to his IPAD.  There they are reading Phil’s rules for a Happy, Happy, Happy Life!

Who can jump and catch the best?  That’s Ryan, Dennis and Preston

Lost of summer fun!  Happy Father’s Day to MY wonderful dad and to Dennis, the best father to our children!!  Could not do it without both of them!

The Big Trip

Preston and Grant went on a trip “up north” with my parents.  My mom wanted to see a cemetery with her relatives’ gravesites in Connecticut.  They started on their trip and only made it 14 miles when the truck broke down.  The trip was delayed a week and then school was out so they got a van from the dealership that muddled a routine oil change (reason for breakdown) and took two of the boys with them.  Poor Ryan had to stay for baseball.  Since they had the boys they decided to see some sights along the way:

First stop after days of driving:  Niagara Falls!

Grant sent text that said, 99 % Indian, 1% US ( I thought he meant “US”, he meant U.S. as in Americans!) too funny

Next stop: Cooperstown NY and the Baseball Hall of Fame

Then they spied: HOWE Caverns.  They did not get a family discount Sad smile

Dad and the boys went in while Gran enjoyed the views.

Finally, they made it to the cemetery and it was raining.  They did get to see the graves they wanted to see and take some pictures.

They stayed in New England to see lighthouses and eat some “Lobsta”

On the way back they stopped at Mammoth Cave in Kentucky

I sent the boys with a camera and they had their phones.  They did text pictures of Niagara Falls and Mike Schmidt’s plaque at the hall of fame (my favorite player), but I mostly got pictures of food and stadiums!  Their pictures on the camera were just as funny…hobos, people with weird hair, weird signs and lots of stadiums!  BOYS!!

They all had a great time.
