Camping Trip

Here are a few pictures from our camping trip to the Navy Recreation Center at Solomon's Island. We went on Friday for the USAPAT Annual picnic and a few families stayed for the night. We had such a good time we decided to stay another night. Since it was last minute and we had company Thursday night for Pizza, I just threw together left over pizza, chips and pop tarts. We caught one fish and 3 crabs the first day so we added that to our feast. We also mooched off the others who were more prepared and had great grilled corn and s'mores! When we decided to stay another night we had to go the store and get more food! Saturday we caught 4 fish (keepers) and 2 oysters for our dinner. The boys gathered wood and we had a campfire. The weather was beautiful...actually a little too cool at night. We swam, played putt putt, went to the driving range, the pier, fished and played cards. It was great and I loved it b/c we were a bit spontaneous...like when we had no kids :). It was a good thing we stayed b/c our air conditioner had stopped working Thursday night! (It is fixed now). Sunday night we cooked fish (and steaks) for the Rohrbaugh's. Fish we had in our freezer...not any we caught on this trip. We still have more in the freezer as well as other stuff we are trying to eat up before we move. Dennis' aunt, cousins and a friend are coming on Tuesday and staying until Sunday to see DC one last time. Melanie has not been here yet so she is just making it! Monday we will pack up and Tuesday the packers start packing ALL our stuff. Wednesday they pack the truck and then we start cleaning. I get a break to have a birthday lunch with friends on Friday. Monday my friend Michelle and her family will move in. We also have a Hail and Farewell this Thursday, a pool party this Friday, another farewell Monday Afternoon and the official change of command on the 6th. WHEW!!! It is hard to even think about all the stuff. PLUS I need to get my hair and toes done...take Grant to get shots....it goes on and on.
We might know about the house in AL on Friday...keep your fingers crossed.
