My Birthday Mini Vacation

For my birthday this year we went to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg VA with my friend Carey and her three kids. We left Saturday afternoon and came back Monday afternoon. We had a great time. Great Wolf is a kid friendly hotel with a huge indoor water park. They also have arcades, Mini golf, an outdoor pool and an interactive game called MagiQest. Ryan and Teagan did MagiQuest while the other boys played in the arcade. Later we had to pool all our brainpower (plus help from workers) just to finish!..or so we thought!! We spent most of our waking hours at the water park. The first night was a bit rough, with Kevin throwing up and I somehow stubbed one of my little toes. Kevin recovered more quickly than I did. I can still barely wear a shoe! Will probably lose that toenail. Yuck! Poor Dennis was supposed to be gone when we planned this trip, stayed home alone! I will try to post the link or just search Great Wolf Lodge. They have many hotels around the country. Well worth it.

IGLOO

Grant and I spent an hour or 3 in our still snow-covered yard building an igloo. That is hard work. Glad I am not an Eskimo (oops..Native Alaskan). You see we never could quite get to the roof. Night was falling and supper was calling. We had fun and enjoyed the snow before it all melts away. Temp will go up 10 degrees a day until we are at 70 on Sunday! Maybe Spring is around the corner.

trees and the roof

Wow! 8 inches of snow. On March 2nd!!! We are out of school and enjoying the day. Ryan and I made a "snowgirl", everyone sledded down the hill (I took pictures and movies), and there were a few snowballs thrown! Ozzy seems to like it but Sport just wants treats. Dennis has been shoveling all morning. Think I will bake cookies and make hot chocolate later. Last snow of the winter I am pretty sure so we have to enjoy it. It is very powdery.
