Hey Dad, Look at Me!

Have you heard the new Brad Paisley song about having a son? It is really good…”I am in trouble if he turns out like me” or something to that effect. Talks about breaking bones, windows, speeding, and wearing a football helmet! These are for you Dennis! Delane said Preston looked just like you out there tonight in the first JV game of the season. He blitzed, made several tackles, ran in a touchdown and took a bad snap and threw for the 2 pt conversion. After looking horrible last year and never winning a game, our team looked great! THE FIRST HALF! Then they fell apart! Preston and others had practiced with the varsity before the game. He started cramping right at the half and couldn’t shake it. We were ahead 22-6, then 29-14, and LOST 35-36!! Heartbreaking!

Cool Time in “hot”lanta part one

We took over 200 hundred pictures this weekend so here is round one.  My parents went with the boys and I to Atlanta, Georgia to see the Braves play and go to the Aquarium.  ON Saturday, my dad, Preston and Grant went to batting practice and got to get real close to all the players on both teams.  They loved it.  That night the Braves won 12-3 with many great hits including 3 home runs.  On Sunday, we dropped off my dad, Preston and Grant at Turner Field for the next game and my mom, Ryan and I went to the aquarium.  We all had a great time.  The aquarium was very cool and I saw some things I had never seen before!  Ryan loved every second of it.  The Braves were losing 6-1 as we were getting ready to leave the Aquarium to go pick them up after the game.  I got a text from Dennis (In Kuwait) saying that it was now tied 6-6 in the 9th and could go extra innings!  I thought uh oh, that would mess up my pick up.  Preston then called and said the Braves WON with a homerun.  After a few words with a police/traffic guy, I picked them right up on the corner and off we went!  Good games, great fun!

NB Jamboree Game

Preston dressed out with the varsity tonight for the first time. They played a practice game in Florala. The varsity played the first 3 qtrs and the JV teams played the 4th quarter. Preston did great. Said he had 5 tackles and I heard his name announced twice! He played both offense and defense and really shined at defense (Linebacker). He looked confident and excited. We won 28-6. First “real” game next Friday night. This was the first of my 30 games by Halloween! So FUN!

It was hot but not too bad..a storm went by with lots of lightning. Had it been a baseball game they would have called or at least delayed it…southern football!
